At 8:48 p.m. The countdown is at the T-6 hour point for the launch of the Air Force Minotaur 1 rocket carrying the Missile Defense Agency's Near Field Infrared Experiment (NFIRE) satellite. The launch window for this attempt is 2:48 to 3:03 a.m., Tuesday, April 24. During the past hour and the next one, the Wallops range will be checking out radar, telemetry and other support systems. Initial set-up of the rocket begins at T-5 hours.

At 9:48 p.m. T-5 hours and counting. The Wallops range has completed its initial checks of its support systems for the launch. During the next hour the rocket team will conduct its initial set-up of the launch vehicle and range set-up. The weather at Wallops is 61 degrees, clear skies and winds around 17 mph out of the SSW.

10:48 p.m. T-4 hours and counting. The vehicle and range set up are complete. The weather forecast for launch: 58 degrees, winds at 15 knots from the SSW, broken /layered mid-level clouds. Only a 15% chance of weather violation for launch. Countdown is running smoothly to this point. At the launch pad the gantry is being removed from around the Minotaur. The launch team is continuing with vehicle test.

1:48 a.m. T-60 minutes and counting. Arming and vehicle closeout is complete. Telemetry and radar systems have been calibrated. Range is ready to proceed. The initiation of the final launch checklist has started.
